4 Ways to Lose Weight by Changing Your Beverage Habits

Share/Bookmark
The most important and only fluid we need to drink to keep us alive is water. Anything else we drink is made up of habit, addiction or to provide the body with some type of satisfaction (sugar, carbonated drinks etc). Drinks other than water are a hidden source of calories and sugar. As shown in the picture below, you can very easily drink your daily energy requirement in sweet sugary and milky drinks. The easiest way to cut calories, lose weight and improve your health is to watch your fluid intake.

Changing your beverage habits
(photo: Tarable1)

Her are some weight loss tips – in the first week I start with one small goal: Change your drinking habits.
1. Replace all sugary drinks with sugar-free alternatives
2. Reduce all your normal drinks by half (i.e. if you have two full-cream lattes each day, reduce it to one; if you have four glasses of wine during the week only have two)
3. Replace your fruit juice with water
4. Reduce the sugar you add to drinks by half (ie. If you have one teaspoon of sugar with your tea, reduce down to half a teaspoon or none if you can)
Try the above for one week and you will see the results.

Making healthier drink choices
Here are my recommendations for how to make healthier choices when choosing your drinks:
  • DRINK WATER – it has zero calories and is essential for the health and function of your body
  • Choose plain tea or black coffee
  • If you drink Milo / Ovaltine / Horlicks: Mix it with hot water instead of milk
  • Use low fat milk in all of your drinks
  • Don’t add sugar to drinks
  • Reduce the fruit juice in your diet – or make them 50/50 (i.e.: half juice, half water)
  • Choose sugar-free sodas or soft drinks
  • Have evaporated milk instead of condensed milk
  • Reduce the amount of alcohol you consume (try to enforce dry days during the week)

7 strategies to fatten your wallet

Share/Bookmark
Our desires and wants are unlimited but our financial resources are limited. As such, it's important for us to need to differentiate our needs and wants. In the course of learning how to better manage and grow my money, I read countless books on personal finance. Among all the books that I read, the book that stood out most was "The Richest Man in Babylon", written by George Samuel Clason.

The richest man in Babylon
Quite unlike other books on personal finance, this book approaches this subject through the story of Arkad, the richest man in Babylon. In this book, Arkad delves into personal finance as he shares with his childhood friends practical and useful tips on how to grow one's wealth.

Despite being poor when he was a child, Arkad grew up to become the richest man inRead more »

Manage Your Own Money

For retiree Carol Klonowski, portfolio management became a 20-hour-a-week job. After taking classes offered by her brokerage firm, Charles Schwab, she started making regular stock trades from her computer, and reading up on analyses by financial advisers. She joked to friends that she was managing a small--very small--hedge fund.

3 simple detox routines to cleanse your body

Share/Bookmark
We often hear the word "detox" being associated with weight loss. "Detox" is short form for detoxification. It is simply the process of cleaning out the toxins in our body.
In this article, we go through three easy ways to detoxify your body and supercharge your dieting efforts.

What's your Detoxing Method?
1. Fasting Detox Fasting has been seen as one of the more effective ways of cleansing the body of toxins by many people. Despite the beneficial results experienced by some, there are also people who have a bad experience with fasting. One reason fasting is difficult for some people is that it requires a large amount of concentration and effort from the individual. You must be mentally prepared to go without food for a long time and this requires great effort, especially for people who are attempting to fast for the first time. It is better to start things on a slow note and gradually build up the concentration and effort to fast. For example, if you are trying out fasting for the first time or it has been a while since your last fasting attempt, you can try fasting for a few hours in a day in order to help yourself get used to the fasting process physically and mentally. When you feel you are ready, you can intensify the process by fasting for longer hours. Remember that fasting can be dangerous if you become dehydrated or fast for too long of a period. Fasting for more than 24 hours should be avoided unless directed by a physician. Always stay hydrated by drinking at least 1.5 to 2 liters of water per day. Also, make sure that you don't overeat when you break your fast. You may be very hungry and it is easy to eat too many calories when you are hungry.

2. Cranberry Juice Detox

Cranberry juice, which is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, cleanses the toxins that build up in the liver. This in turn increases the liver's efficiency of flushing out excess fats from the body. As compared to fasting detox method, some people prefer the cranberry juice detox method because you do not have to curb your desire to eat at any time of the day. The cranberry juice detox is very easy to carry out. You only need to start your day with a 250ml glass of cranberry juice with ground flaxseed. Flaxseed is healthy and rich in omega-3 fatty acids. Throughout the day, you should maintain a low-calorie diet, preferably not more than 1,100 calories, by eating healthy and nutritious food that is low in carbohydrates (especially added sugars) and fats. You should avoid foods such as fatty meat, coffee, and char kway teow. The cranberry juice detox phase will last for about two to three weeks. After that, you will start on your weight loss phase. At this point, your calorie intake can be increased to 1,200 to 1,500 per day, depending on your size and physical activity level. Although you do not have to be as restrictive about your diet as compared to during the detox phrase, you are still encouraged to eat healthily in order to achieve optimum weight loss results.

3. Juice Fasting Detox

The juice fasting detox requires individuals to stay away from eating solid food. However, this does not mean that you need only consume juice throughout the day. You can also take in food in liquid forms such as soup and smoothies. The basic juice fast contains only raw vegetables, fruit juice, and water. However, research has shown that grapefruit juice should not be included in a juice fast, especially to the diet of people taking prescribed drugs. Grapefruit juice contains a component that can modify the effect prescribed drugs have in our body. The recommended period for the juice fast detox is one to three days. If you are interested in continuing with this detox method, you should consult a dietician to ensure that you are taking in sufficient nutrients. Detox can be helpful to your weight-loss efforts. Getting rid of toxins and waste in your body can strengthen your immune system and allow you to have a more efficient digestive system. Apart from weight loss, detox also helps to rejuvenate the body. This will make you more alert and energetic throughout the day. Detox can be challenging when you first start out — it is difficult to change your eating and living habits overnight physically and mentally. So start slow and progress steadily. Once you've built up the momentum, you will find that detox is not so tough after all. Note, however, that detox is not meant to be carried out on a daily or weekly basis. Detox is meant to be used only to kickstart your diet plan. After detox, you should go on to consume a nutritious and healthy diet.

Top 10 detox foods

Lemon

Lemons are a staple of many detox diets, and there is good reason for this. Firstly, lemons are packed with antioxidant vitamin C, which is great for the skin and for fighting disease-forming free-radicals. Furthermore, the citrus fruit has an alkaline effect on the body, meaning that it can help restore the body's pH balance, benefitting the immune system. Try starting your day with hot water and a slice of lemon to help flush out toxins and cleanse your system.

Ginger

If too much fatty food or alcohol has caused problems for your digestive system, it may be worthwhile adding some ginger to your diet. Ginger is not only great for reducing feelings of nausea, but it can help improve digestion, beat bloating and reduce gas. In addition to this, ginger is high in antioxidants and is good for boosting the immune system. To give your digestion a helping hand, try sipping on ginger tea or adding some freshly grated ginger to a fruit or vegetable juice.

Garlic

Garlic has long been known for its heart benefits, however the pungent food is also good at detoxifying the body. Garlic is not only antiviral, antibacterial and antibiotic, but it contains a chemical called allicin which promotes the production of white blood cells and helps fight against toxins. Garlic is best eaten raw, so add some crushed garlic to a salad dressing to boost its flavour and your health at the same time.

Artichoke
If you have recently been overindulging in fatty foods and alcohol, adding some steamed globe artichoke leaves to your meals is a great way to help get your body back on track. Globe artichokes are packed with antioxidants and fibre and can also help the body digest fatty foods. On top of this, globe artichoke is renowned for its ability to stimulate and improve the functions of the liver - the body's main toxin-fighting tool.

Beetroot

For those needing a quick health-boosting shot of nutrients, you can't do much better than beetroot. Packed with magnesium, iron, and vitamin C, the vegetable has recently been hailed as a superfood due to its many reported health benefits. Not only is beetroot great for skin, hair and cholesterol levels, but it can also help support liver detoxification, making it an ultimate detox food. To enjoy its benefits, try adding raw beetroot to salads or sipping on some beetroot juice.

Green tea

While it's not technically a food, no detox plan would be complete without regular consumption of essential liquids. Fluids are essential for keeping our organs healthy and helping to flush toxins from the body, and drinking green tea is a great way of boosting your intake. Green tea is not only a good weight-loss drink, but it is extremely high in antioxidants. Research has also suggested that drinking green tea can protect the liver from diseases including fatty liver disease.

Cabbage

Many celebs have resorted to the cabbage soup diet to help lose weight and get in shape quickly before a big event, however cabbage is not only good for weight loss - it is also an excellent detoxifying food. Like most cruciferous vegetables (including broccoli and sprouts), cabbage contains a chemical called sulforaphane, which helps the body fight against toxins. Cabbage also supplies the body with glutathione; an antioxidant that helps improve the detoxifying function of the liver.

Fresh fruit
Fresh fruits are high in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fibre= and are also low in calories, making them an important part of a detox diet. If you're after brighter eyes and skin, shinier hair and improved digestion, try boosting your intake of fruit and eating from a wide variety of different kinds. The good news is fruit is easy to add to your diet, so try starting your day with a fresh fruit salad or smoothie and snacking on pieces of fruit throughout the day.

Brown rice

If you want to cleanse your system and boost your health, it is a good idea to cut down on processed foods. Instead, try supplementing your diet with healthier whole grains such as brown rice, which is rich in many key detoxifying nutrients including B vitamins, magnesium, manganese and phosphorous. Brown rice is also high in fibre, which is good for cleansing the colon, and rich in selenium, which can help to protect the liver as well as improving the complexion.

Watercress

Like most green herbs and vegetables, watercress is an excellent health-booster and detox food. Firstly, watercress leaves are packed with many vital detoxifying nutrients, including several B vitamins, zinc, potassium, vitamin E and vitamin C. Secondly, watercress has natural diuretic properties, which can help to flush toxins out the body. To reap the benefits of this nutritious food, try adding a handful of watercress to salads, soups and sandwiches.

What causes Premature Aging?

Share/Bookmark
Concerned over Premature aging? Here are some factors that contribute to that.

The Culprits that makes you look older than your age.

1. Do you always have to get a sugar fix?
Indulging your sweet tooth may be rebounding on you not just on the scale, but on your face, too. "Too much sugar in the body causes 'glycation,' which can cause premature aging," says Diana Lorenzo, M.D., of Skinhealth.

Glycation is a bonding process between fat, protein and sugar that occurs inside the tissues, where it can cause muscle inflexibility, inflammation and the production of free radicals, a culprit behind aging. You don't have to go give up sugar entirely (yet), but dial down the sugar intake and switch to small pieces of dark chocolate or low-sugar fruits when craving sweets.

2. Are you a side sleeper?

Top Six Most Popular Korean BB Creams

What is BB cream? BB cream stands for blemish balm cream. It was originally invented by German dermatologists for patients who have undergone laser skin surgery to soothe, heal and regenerate their skin. BB cream is a cosmetic product that combines foundation, moisturizer and concealer all in one, perfectly suitable for a busy girl’s daily makeup use. How to use it? It is recommended to do the basic skincare before applying BB cream. And be sure to clean it thoroughly after use. When applying BB cream, use as little as possible. Tell the FDA to Label My Food

Share/Bookmark
Sometimes have you wondered where or how you got your foodstuff from? Do you know what you're REALLY eating?

In a country that labels everything from cosmetics to cleaning agents, it’s surprising that there are no laws in the U.S. requiring labeling of genetically engineered foods.

The FDA undertakes no GMO safety testing on its own. Instead, they allow companies like Monsanto, who told us that their DDT, PCBs, and Agent Orange was safe, to determine if their GMOs are safe. Internal FDA documents revealed that the agency’s own scientists warned of serious health risks, and urged long-term testing–but were denied. Now many doctors prescribe non-GMO diets, citing serious health disorders in lab animals fed GMOs. Don’t be a lab animal!

There are many reasons why Americans want labeling of genetically engineered foods. Whatever the reason is that brought you here, what unites us all is that we all want to make informed choices about the food we eat and feed our families. We have a right to know if what we are eating has been genetically engineered.

We all have a right to know what’s in our food.

Are all "detox" are good for you?

Share/Bookmark
In this body-conscious world where airbrushed models are considered the norm, Did you know that, one in 20 women would rather lose a limb than be obese? this is no surprise. But while it may be tempting to engage in one of the many extreme detox diets, you should keep in mind that while it may seem that you’re losing weight, you’re actually doing more harm to your body than good.

"Cleanse" everyday with a healthy lifestyle

Extreme detox or cleansing diets promise significant and dramatic weight loss within a short period of time. You’re asked to eliminate certain food groups in a detox diet, and stick to a strict food regimen that, most often, contain less than your recommended daily calorie intake. Such a diet will, naturally, cause you to lose weight, since weight loss happens when you eat fewer calories than what you have to burn. But most of the weight lost will most likely be gained back after your supposed “cleanse”.

Not only that, but when you drastically eliminate certain food groups from your diet, you’ll be depriving your body of much-needed proteins, fat, calcium, and carbohydrates. Studies have also shown that when you scrimp on calories, you stop producing a hormone called IGF1, which reduces thyroid and other hormones in your body, including insulin.

Implications on hair and skin

It’s a known fact that whatever you feed your body will affect your skin, hair, and even mood (which explains why a certain Dream Girls singer-actress claimed that the Master Cleanse made her successfully drop the pounds but in turn made her “evil”). So imagine if you suddenly switch to a drastic diet that consisted of only drinking liquids or of munching on grapefruit alone. You’ll be depriving your skin and hair of nutrients it needs to be in tip-top shape!

For example, going on a low-protein diet could leave you with dry, dull, and damaged hair. That’s because hair is made up of 97% protein! Depriving yourself of certain fruits and veggies (just because it’s not “in the handbook” of a certain detox ritual) could rob your body of antioxidants, which helps fight free radicals in the skin—the very same baddies that can cause premature aging.

“Detox” the “Right” Way

So should you just suffer lugging around those pesky five pounds that you just can’t seem to lose? Not really. You can still do a “detox diet”, but the key is to do it the right way by eating the right kinds of foods.

Our bodies are already equipped with organs that flush out toxins for us, whether we down “diet juices” or not. (They’re called our kidneys and liver.) The reason why people crave cleanses is because they feel they’ve been ingesting too many toxins and need to have them flushed out. So how about preventing having to do flushes by living and maintaining a healthy lifestyle in the first place?

It’s a fact that people eat too much food anyway—food that’s loaded with unnecessary sugar and saturated fats. Not to mention those who guzzle alcohol and smoke cigarettes on a daily basis. Cutting out such bad habits is a “cleanse” on its own, since you’ll be eliminating the cause of “toxins” in the body.

So what kinds of food should you be chowing down on? A healthy gauge is to follow the food pyramid, with its proper portioning of sugar, meat, veggies, and carbs. To keep your skin glowing and supple, stock-up on foods high in antioxidants, such as pecans, blueberries, and red beans. To avoid getting lifeless hair, ditch the greasy chicken wings for some baked salmon—its high levels of Omega-3 acids are great for strengthening and maintaining lustrous hair.

In short, a healthy diet is one that you stick with, not one that you just undergo for a few days, a week, or a month. That’s because a “diet” shouldn’t only be seen as a one-time “event”, but instead, as a lifestyle. Many people dread the word “diet” because to them, it involves depriving yourself of certain foods. You don’t have to eliminate chocolate or sweets from your life. You just have to learn to eat them in moderation.

Of course, some people might have special dietary needs—so if you’re really serious about “detoxifying” your lifestyle, don’t buy a book about the latest trendy detox diet in the bookstore. Instead, head to a nutritionist’s office for a consult.

5 good skin habits your mother should’ve told you

Share/Bookmark
They say a habit – good or bad – is formed after 30 days. Your skin’s glow and (and your money!) can be saved if you get into these 5 daily good skin practices now. When you are older, it will be too late. Your mum can’t turn back the clock but you can certainly slow yours down and be on the road to looking fabulous before you can say “Joan Rivers” or be addressed as “Auntie” way before your time.

Dont just moisturise – but moisturise correctly for your age.
Koreans maintain this appeal with a 5-step skincare regimen: clean, massage, tone, essence, and moisturize.

Habit #1: Wash off all your makeup at night no matter what.
This will save you from:
“Microdermabrasion” – pores that are not properly cleansed of impurities will dull and stretch becoming larger, therefore prematurely showing signs of ageing.

Habit #2: Drink water every day.
This will save you from:
Injectable fillers (like Restylane). Skin remains hydrated and retains elasticity, resulting in supple youthful appearance.

3 little known habits that can help prevent acne

Share/Bookmark
Good skin is always attractive, and is always in fashion.

One of the pleasant "side effects" of good health is good skin. The skin is a reflection of what is going on inside. So fix it from the inside.

Most creams and lotions only work on symptoms and don't hit the root causes of acne. Either you adapt to them and keep needing more and more, or they dry out your skin and make it less smooth. Or both!

Anti-biotics are another common "solution" but they damage the good bacteria as well, causing side effects like poor digestion. So we can't take these for a long period either.

While every case is different, and acne has many possible causes, good habits will help you increase your chance of clearing up your skin.

In fact, many of our clients report improved skin conditions within a few weeks of starting these health building habits. So here are 3 things that build health and bust pimples. The principles are simple - reduce the factors that cause acne, and we are likely to be successful.

1. Build digestive tract health
Your digestive system is your body's first line of defense against bacteria. To make it strong we must not keep stressing it. The foods that cause the most problems are:

Getting into Air Stewardess Class

Share/Bookmark
If you're wondering how it's like to be learning in a class of air stewardess / flight attendants here's roughly how it's like. (Image and Video attached)

An instructor applies make-up foundation on the face of transsexual flight attendant Dissanai Chitpraphachin. (Picture: Reuters)

The New Thai airline PC Air received more than 100 job applications from transsexuals, of which it hired four, to join the 19 female and 7 male flight attendants.

The New Thai airline PC Air is recruiting transsexual ladyboys as flight attendants, making it the first Thailand-based airline to do so. It stated that the qualifications for the ladyboy flight attendants were the same as for women, and they should also walk and talk in a feminine manner. One of the flight attendants who made it through the application process, 24-year-old Chayathisa Nakmai, said: 'When I knew that I got this job, I burst into tears because I'm very happy. 'I had sent many applications to different airlines.'

PC Air president Peter Chan told the news provider that recruiting the ladyboys was a longer process than hiring the male and female crew members. 'For male flight attendants, if I don't want to hire them, it's because of their attitude or their characters, like the way they walk and smile. For female flight attendants, if they have no patience and their character does not qualify, we won't hire them,' he said. 'For transsexuals, we can't just spend five or ten minutes with them, we have to spend the whole day with them to make sure they have feminine characters.'

Anne Hathaway bares it all for Love And Other Drugs

Anne Hathaway Bares it all for Love And Other Drugs

I'm happy to report that there's quite a bit of skin in Love And Other Drugs. Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway spend a lot of time in bed enjoying each other's naked bodies, and far from being lewd, it's very beautiful.

Anne Hathaway has quite a few sex scenes with her co-actor Jake Gyllenhaal in her latest movie Love and Other Drugs. But as if those scenes were not enough to show skin, Anne went a step further and got naked before the crew of the film for no reason. It was just a case of misunderstanding, as Anne explained during the New York City premiere of the film. Actress Anne Hathaway had to remove her trench coat and be nude underneath that. She went ahead and did it only to realize that they were not shooting but just rehearsing. So she bared it all without a reason. But a professional that she is, she claims that she just went ahead and did her job.Although Anne did not look uncomfortable or uneasy during the nude shot, she has said that there were butterflies inside her stomach. However, Anne dismissed it as an internal problem and did not let that get in the way of her work. Jake, her co-star has even complimented Anne for her 'rhythm' in the sex scenes. Both Jake and Anne should have felt comfortable in the lovemaking scenes, as they had also slept together in the film Brokeback Mountain. Jake has said that the fact that they had done sex scenes for Brokeback Mountain took care of any nervousness that they might have felt shooting for this film. Jake, in the movie Love and Other Drugs, plays the role of a pharmaceutical sales person called Jamie Randall, who hooks up and sleeps with Maggie, played by Anne, as he sells her a sex enhancement product for men.

Story: Set in the late 90s, womaniser Jamie Randall (Gyllenhaal) meets beautiful Parkinson's disease sufferer Maggie Murdock (Hathaway) while working as a drug rep for a pharmaceutical company. Can he become a loving partner for a girl who needs more than the usual amount of care?

Drinking Water can be made Refreshing & fun!

Share/Bookmark
Wondering how to serve your guest with plain drinking water? Drinking water can be fun & relaxing. Drink plenty of water. It’s the healthiest and most natural appetite suppressant and metabolism booster. Drinking a lot alleviates water retention and fat-trapping waste. Not so fond of water? To make water tastier, there are several ways. If you've clean drinking water coming straight from the taps, make the most out of it. Try these fuss-free ways for a refreshing thirst quencher.

Keep it Cool:
Using a potato peeler, peel long, thin strips of cucumber and add them to a jug of water. This gives the water a hint of cucumber's naturally clean and fresh flavour. To extract maximum flavour from cucumber, add the peel to hot water.

Tangy Touch:
We all know how a squeeze of lemon can turn plain water deliciously tangy, but why stop at just lemons? Other citrus fruits, such as lime, orange and even grapefruit can also be used. You can even try a mix of different citrus fruits.

Muddle Me Up:
If making fresh juices at home is too much of a hassle, try 'muddling' soft fruits in a glass. In a glass already filled two-thirds with water, add fruits such as raspberries, blueberries, strawberries or even kiwi fruits. Mash up the fruits with a long-stemmed spoon or fork. Adding a sprig of mint will result in an extra-refreshing flavour. Leftover fruit muddles can also be frozen to become delicious icicles -- they make light, healthful alternatives to ice-cream !

Minty Fresh:
Place a leaf of mint in each square of water in your ice tray and soon you will have ice cubes that not only look pretty, but also add a minty fresh flavour to that glass of water on a hot day. You can also use other aromatic herbs such as rosemary or parsley.

Have fun drinking water with your guests!! :)
Remember: Aim to drink half your weight in ounces of water per day and more on hot days.

Airline safety Dance by Cebu Pacific

This In-flight safety dance video routine has been a hit. A week after their viral in-flight safety dance routine by pretty flight stewardesses which created a huge buzz online ( a staggering 6.5 million views since it was posted on YouTube last week), this time their second routine would of course be the male-flight attendants.

The impact though, to me the second video just isn't the same as the first. Perhaps it's because it's no longer fresh, or perhaps I prefer to watch the girls.

Travel Medications

Never Leave Home Without Them
Your holidays can turn into nightmares if illness strikes in a foreign land. But relax as here are some pratical advice on how to avoid getting sick, and what to do if you do fall ill.

Going on a holiday soon? Stock up on medication for minor ailments. It could save you the anxiety of a trip to a clinic or hospital in another country. Many of these medicines are readily available at pharmacies or upon recommendation from pharmacists.

FEVER
Carry a thrmometer to check body temperature. For a temperature lower than 38.6 degree paracetamol is a safe and effective choice. Preparations for infants and children are also available in syrup or as chewable tablets. Dosages for children should be in accordance to the child's weight.

If fever hits 38.6 degrees and beyond, ibuprofen may be used. This may cause gastric irritation, and so must be taken after food. However, individuals with gastric ulcers, heart disease, high blood pressure, kidney problems, asthma, or who are allergic to aspirin should avoid ibuprofen.

If the temperature increases beyond 39.5 degree, or fails to subside after three days, consult a doctor at your destination, to rule out other underlying conditions. For children above 2 years and the elderly who have low immunity, consult a doctor if fever persists longer than two days. For children under two, consult a doctor if fever does not subside in a day.

RUNNY AND BLOCKED NOSE
You don't want to be drowsy on your holiday. Fortunately, non-drowsy cold/flu medications in tablet form are readily available for adults and children aged 12 and above. Children between ages of six to 12 may use the alternative in syrup form.

Individuals with high blood pressure, heart diseases or hyperthyroidism should take single entity medicines such as loratadine or cetrizine tablets which are non-drowsy. These individuals should consult the pharmacist on the use of such medications. For blocked nose, nasal sprays and drops containing xylometazoline or oxymetazoline may be considered. Such nasal preparations should not be use consecutively for more than five days.

COUGH
There are 2 types of cough, dry (without phlegm) and wet (with phlegm/chesty). A dry cough manifests itself as a itchy feeling at the back of the throat. Cough suppressants such as dextromethorphan can be considered for adults and children over two-years old.

If loose phlegm is present, an expectorant such as guaiphenesin would suffice. This loosens the phlegm so that it can be expelled. If the amount of phelgm is abundant, a phelgm dissolving medicine such as ambroxol tablets or carbocisteine capsules may be considered. All phlegm dissolving medicines should be taken after meals to reduce gastric irritation.

SORE THROAT
A mild sore throat may be alleviated with tablets containing anti-inflammatory enzyme such as serratiopeptidase. Stronger alternatives, available from the pharmacist may reduce inflammation as well as numb pain but are suitable for only children aged six and above. A sore throat which persists for more than three days despite self medication warrants a visit to a doctor as antibiotics may be required.

MOTION SICKNESS
Giddiness and nausea are symptoms of motion sickness which can be overcome by medication such as dimenhydrinate. For children aged 12 and above, one to two tablets should be taken half an hour before travelling. Each dose is effective for approximately six to eight hours, and can be repeated when travelling over a prolonged period. Dimenhydrate syrup is also available for children aged two years and above.

RASHES & ITCH
Over-the-counter anti-itch creams can reduce itch due to insect bites and mild allergies. For intense itch, approach a pharmacist for a cream containing hydrocortisone (one per cent). This is a mild steriod cream which should only be continuously for a maximum of one week.

Iron Baby - a iron man parody

Share/Bookmark

Iron Baby!! The only suit you'll need as a toddler... Something extremely interesting and cool to watch for entertainment, watch this cute little iron baby relaxingly blast off bunnies. It was an short clip (extremely) well done by a French Canadian autodidact director, Mr Patrick. Remember to share these with your friends!!

Many parents dream of making their kids a star /pop icon. But for Patrick case he has made his baby girl into a different kind of star, not a dancer, not a singer but as a super hero! And not just any other super hero...but as Iron Baby!

The Montreal based video artist created this gorgeous ode to Iron Man starring his young daughter complete with an intricate metal costume, flying, flames and battles with bunnies. Yeah, it’s pretty amazing. She is a star. Check out the visually stunning and humorous Iron Man spoof entitled Iron Baby and remember to share it! Check out the awesomeness below!

Her character was so cute and pretty that it has left an impression in my mind even though she is still not too famous.
